As a member of the Queen's University Foundation Board, Managing Partner Robert Sinclair recently organised a successful Black Tie dinner to launch the fundraising campaign to raise funds for the University's Cancer Research and Cell Biology Centre at Belfast City Hospital and to advance the University as a leader in this area of research.

The event took place on 6 February 2010 at Helen's Bay Golf Club and was a huge success.  It was attended by leaders of industry, pharmaceutical companies, top medics, representatives of all the Trusts and the heads of all the cancer charities in Northern Ireland.  In addition, the Lord Chief Justice, Sir Declan Morgan, was in attendance on the night.

BBC's Mark Carruthers was Master of Ceremonies for the evening and oversaw the charity auction.  The event raised in excess of £70,000 with donations continuing to be made and gave a huge boost to the persistent fundraising efforts of the Board.
